Inflation Relief Fund

Even in the best of times, raising the funds necessary for the National Centre for Padre Pio to keep its doors open to welcome pilgrims and visitors and meet the needs of the faithful is challenging.

And now, with record inflation increasing costs across the board, we are writing to you today as a friend in Padre Pio to humbly ask for your help. We are experiencing sharply rising costs in all areas, so we are projecting a deficit in our budget this year of approximately $175,000.

While our visitorship to the Centre is continuing to climb back to what it was prior to the Covid-19 pandemic, our costs for things such as building and grounds maintenance, utilities, and supplies are quickly rising, and we are well on our way to an increase in expenses of roughly 9% this year.

And, while we always do our best to keep our expenditures to a minimum and run “lean and mean,” it is especially challenging to do with rising costs set to outpace our projected revenue. We realize that economic inflation is impacting many of you as well, so it is with great humility that we come to you with this request.

As you may know, the Centre is not owned or funded by any diocese or religious order. As such, we rely 100% on the generosity of Padre Pio devotees such as yourself to keep the Centre running – so that we are able to continue in our critical mission of leading souls to God through Padre Pio.

That is why we’re hoping that you will find it in your heart to donate to the National Centre for Padre Pio at this critical time. Your gift would mean so much and make such a big difference for us.

Our foundress, Vera M. Calandra, had a “grass roots” group of devotees whom she personally relied on during times of great need at the Centre – but most of these dear souls have since passed on. We pray you may be willing to step forward and become one of the next generation of benefactors to personally take the Centre under your wing.
