The Smiling Pope

Date/Time
Date(s) - Aug 26, 2026
11:30 am - 12:30 pm

On this day in 1978, Pope John Paul I was elected.  Thirty-three days later he was found dead of an apparent heart attack – making his reign one of the shortest in papal history.  The cause for his canonization was begun by his successor, Pope John Paul II.  Pope Francis named him Venerable in 2017 and presided over his beatification on September 4, 2022. Come learn more about his life and spirituality and why a “smile” can be the greatest tool of evangelization. Opportunity will also be provided to venerate rare relics of this soon-to-be canonized saint.
